A healthy and simple dog cake made with sweet potato, oats, and peanut butter, perfect for a special treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sweet potato, cooked and mashed
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter (unsweetened and unsalted)
  • 1/4 cup water (as needed)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the mashed sweet potato, rolled oats, whole wheat flour, peanut butter, and egg in a mixing bowl.
  3. Mix until well combined, adding water as needed to reach a batter-like consistency.
  4. If using, mix in honey.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased cake pan.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let it cool completely before serving to your dog.

Notes

Store leftover cake in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5-7 days or freeze slices for up to 3 months.
